Benefits of Geberit Mapress
Easy fitting for secure and durable connections
Geberit Mapress connection technology stands out thanks to easy handling and excellent reliability.
After deburring, simply mark the insertion depth on the pipe and insert the pipe up to the mark. Then put the pressing jaw with the correct groove on the defined pressing contour and carry out the pressing procedure using permanent pressing.
This gives the seal ring an exact, predetermined shape that not only saves additional energy but also ensures permanent tightness.
The result is a permanently leakproof connection that is quick to install, cost-effective and perfect for demanding installations.

Prevent incorrect pressings:
The precise jaw guide of Geberit Mapress Stainless Steel fittings ensures that the pressing jaw or pressing collar is positioned exactly where intended. This practically eliminates the risk of slipping or applying it incorrectly.

Permanent seal:
During the pressing procedure, the seal ring is given a predefined shape by the pressing jaw of the Geberit Mapress pressing tools. During this process, the ring absorbs additional energy for permanent and reliable tightness.

Visual check of pressed connections:
The pressing indicator detaches during pressing and is easy to remove with a small pull. This ensures that unpressed connections are easily visible.

Leaky if unpressed:
the Geberit Mapress seal ring provides additional safety with the pressing indicator. The special contours of the black CIIR or yellow HNBR seal ring mean that any unpressed connections leak during pressure tests. This recognition feature prevents damage from occurring later during operation.

Easy differentiation between systems:
Fittings and pipes are marked with different colours, which allows you to quickly identify different materials.
High production quality for pressfittings and pipelines
We have high standards in terms of both quality and processing during the manufacture of our pressfittings and pipelines. This consistent focus on quality makes Geberit Mapress a reliable piping system that stands out in the market.
Key factors include a high level of material and system reliability, perfectly finished welds and pipes that a have a completely homogenous structure. The optimised surface of the pipe material also helps ensure that our products perform well and maintain their resistance in the long term.

Thermally optimised welds:
Clean weld seams ensure permanent tightness and reduce susceptibility to corrosion. Special heat treatment after welding creates a homogenous structure that allows perfect pressing.

Smooth material surface:
The incredibly smooth surface increases system reliability and long-term tightness. Mechanically smoothed weld seams improve flow behaviour and the fit of the seal ring. Low roughness values, which are well below the limits set out in standards, guarantee the tightness of the system.

Weld seams with a homogenous material structure:
Special thermal treatment ensures the weld seams have a homogenous material structure. The seams are also mechanically smoothed so that pipes and fittings behave consistently during pressing and operation.
A quick guide to installation
Geberit offers a wide range of pressing tools, pressing jaws and collars to install Geberit Mapress pipes and fittings.
Note: The installation process for Geberit Mapress d12 to d88.9 is different to that for Geberit Mapress d108.

Frequently asked questions about Geberit Mapress
What media can I use Geberit Mapress systems for?
Geberit Mapress can be used for a wide range of media.
Are Geberit Mapress systems approved for drinking water?
Geberit Mapress Stainless Steel and Geberit Mapress Copper have South African approvals for drinking water applications.
What sealing materials are used for Geberit Mapress?
The following sealing materials are available:
- CIIR, black: Drinking water, heating, cooling – wide temperature range
- FKM, blue: Higher temperatures, oils, some chemicals
- HNBR, yellow: Gas, oils, cooling – depending on approval
Some of the fittings in the range come with different preinstalled seals. Seals are easy to replace prior to installation.
Is pressing with Geberit Mapress quicker than welding?
Yes. Pressing is a lot quicker than welding because no welding work, cooling time or follow-up work is required. This considerably reduces installation time and downtime.
What is the service life of a pressed system?
Our piping systems are designed for a service life of 50 years, provided that they’re used with suitable media and in accordance with the specified operating conditions.
Service life can also be influenced by environment and installation.
What pressing contours do Mapress fittings have?
Geberit Mapress fittings have an M-contour (Mapress contour) and are not compatible with V-contour tools.
Can the same fitting and pressing tools be used for all Geberit Mapress systems?
Yes. The processing and pressing tools page explains everything you need to know about compatibility.
