1. Better hygiene, hardly any additional consumption
The advantages of a shower toilet go hand in hand with very low additional water consumption: the integrated shower function only requires 0.5 to 1 litre of water per use. Compared to a conventional toilet, this means only around 2 to 3 percent more water consumption per year – with significantly more comfort and hygiene.
2. Less to no toilet paper
On average, a four-person household uses a good 15 kilograms of toilet paper per year with a conventional toilet. The production of toilet paper is resource-intensive, requiring a lot of wood, water and energy. A more resource-efficient alternative to cleaning with paper is the shower toilet, which cleans gently with water. If paper is only used for drying, toilet paper consumption is reduced by a good 40 percent compared to a conventional toilet.
3. Moderate power consumption
Power consumption varies depending on the number of people in the household, the model and individual settings. The energy consumption of all Geberit AquaClean shower toilet models in standby mode (energy-saving mode) is less than 0.5 watts. This is roughly the same as the standby mode on a television.

The high-quality workmanship also contributes to their durability: the WC ceramics are manufactured in Geberit's European factories, while the technical unit for all models is assembled at the Swiss headquarters. This combination of robust materials and precise manufacturing forms the basis for long-lasting product quality. The ten-year availability of spare parts also contributes to the long service life.

Geberit uses environmental product declarations (EPDs) to transparently show the environmental impact of its shower toilets. This allows the ecological criteria of different AquaClean models to be compared in a well-founded manner. Geberit publishes a separate EPD for each AquaClean shower toilet on its website – a sign of its high standards of transparency.

Geberit meets this standard using an integrated water supply connection with backflow protection, ensuring that the shower toilets can never cause impurities to filter into the drinking water network.
