Space-saving drainage with Geberit PE SuperTube New Alamein City in El Alamein (EG)
New Alamein City is one of Egypt’s most ambitious urban development projects, and is located on the Mediterranean coast.
The city stretches over 200 square kilometres and is home to more than three million inhabitants. The project consists of high-rise residential buildings, luxury hotels, cultural facilities and public infrastructure that will transform the region into a modern urban centre.
With advanced utility networks, sustainable planning and a focus on tourism, New Alamein City combines coastal living with cutting-edge design.
The Geberit SuperTube technology used in the Alamein Towers met demanding requirements to the complete satisfaction of the client.
Project overview
The 18 towers required a high-capacity drainage system in narrow ducts.
Geberit SuperTube saves space in ducts, creating more room for residential and floor space.
Thanks to Geberit SuperTube technology, only a third of the discharge stacks originally planned were needed.
The reduced number of stacks significantly reduced the installation time.
Customer testimonial

The brief Drainage system for small duct sizes

With 18 towers, the New Alamein City project is a gigantic project and had varying requirements in terms of cost and time:
- Rapid project realisation
- Extremely narrow ducts planned
- High quality at a favourable price
- Reliable partner supporting all phases of the project
Meeting these high requirements would have been almost impossible with a conventional drainage system.
The Geberit solution Geberit SuperTube technology

The innovative SuperTube technology from Geberit was able to fulfil these high demands. Thanks to SuperTube, it was possible to switch from a conventional triple stack system to a simpler system. This saved material, costs and space in the ducts.
- Reduction from 162 to 54 discharge stacks
- Around 50% time saving in the installation of discharge stacks
- Total space saving of 210 m² (savings: almost USD 1 million at USD 4,760/m²)
- Up to 34% lower material costs compared to a conventional drainage system
These advantages simplify the installation of the drainage system while also making future maintenance tasks easier.
The client appreciated the support from Geberit throughout the entire project – from planning to completion. Geberit contact persons were available on site during the installation.
